In their second home game of the season, the Thomas College (Waterville, ME) men's basketball team scored 80 points but fell short of Bates College (Lewiston, ME), despite a late rally. Bates won the game by the final score of 84-80. With just over a minute to play the Terriers were down six, but they forced two turnovers and cut the lead to within two. It was as close as they would get though as last week's Terrier hero Mike Burchill (Saco, ME) had another chance to give the Terriers their second straight home victory, but could not get his three pointer from the corner to fall. Burchill scored nine for Thomas in the loss.

The leading scorer for the Terriers was Andrew Duncanson (Portland, ME). Duncanson dropped shot 7-20 from the field and netted 21 points. He led the Terriers in assists with six and rebounds with eight. Junior captain Darrell Alexander (Fairfield, TX) scored 18 points on 6-14 shooting. Leading the Bobcats was Brian Ellis (Braintree, MA) with a game high 23 points on 10-17 from the field. The Terriers look to rebound on Friday, December 5 when they travel across town to play in the Colby Invitational against Babson. Their record now stands at 1-4.

The biggest shot of the young season for the Terriers came with three seconds left to play in the men's basketball home opener against the Wentworth Leopards, as sophomore forward Mike Burchill (Saco, ME) drilled a 24 footer to give Thomas a one point lead. Burchill scored 11 points in the contest but none bigger than the one that gave the Terriers their first win of the season. With the Leopards in pursuit with :58 left on the clock, junior guard Jimmy Veino (Elliot, ME) came up with steal to set up Andrew Duncanson (Portland, ME), and give the Terriers a 79-78 advantage. The Leopards would answer on the offensive end with a basket from Brendan Monteiro (Brockton, MA), but the Terriers had the answer when Burchill hit the shot of the game.

Joy Charles' Thomas College women's basketball coaching debut was a successful one, as the Terriers coasted to an 89-48 victory in their first game of the season. The scoring started for the Terriers less than a minute into the game when Mallorie Blakney (Fairfield, ME) hit a jumper to put the Terriers on top, and they would never look back, as they held the lead for the rest of the game. The basket was a sign of things to come for the lady Terriers and for Blakney, who would score 30 points in the contest. Blakney also added 10 steals as she set the table for Thomas defensively. Blakney's double-double was not the only one for the Terriers, as Cortney Barrett (Monmouth, ME) was also able to conquer the feat.
